Happy Fall Friends!
Finally! Lol. Fall is my favorite time of year! I mean, can anything get better than sweater weather, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin patches, hot apple cider and of course all things Halloween?! Yes, I’m that girl and if you’re reading this you probably are too! I have always loved Halloween; coming up with the cutest costumes, visiting as many pumpkin patches as I can, and the fun old tradition of “booing” the neighbors.
Making boo baskets has always been a family event in our house and something we’ve looked forward to every year. Now that I am a Mama myself, I want to pass along the fun tradition for our babe to experience for years to come. If you’ve never made a boo basket, been boo’ed, or are just looking for cute ideas for your boo basket this year, then you are in the right place!
So what exactly is a boo basket? Well, its a fun little basket full of Halloween treats (it can be as simple or as crazy as you want it to be, but it supposed to be fun, so no pressure!) You then leave it on your neighbors doorstep with instructions to continue the action of booing, ring the doorbell and run away. It is essentially a version of ding-dong ditch but you are leaving a little present at the door!
As Halloween grows nears it’s fun to see how many neighbors will boo each other and keep the fun going! The end goal is for everyone in the neighborhood to participate and get boo’ed.
What’s in our boo basket you ask?
This year we tried to make our boo basket pretty easy, but still full of lots of cute Halloween goodies. (We even threw in something for Moms and Dads!) The best part about our boo basket is that we were able to find most of our goodies at Target* in the dollar section!
Yes, that’s right. Target always has the cutest seasonal items, and we just happened to walk in one day as they were stocking Halloween and found the perfect contents for our boo basket. We found a super cute Halloween “trick or treat” banner, mini bubble wands, a sticker book, Halloween bingo, grow creatures, and light up pumpkin wand for trick or treating. We also threw in a make-your-own cookie haunted house kit, a cute little bag of candy that we put together, and some super yummy pumpkin cider we stumbled upon from Trader Joes (you’re welcome Moms and Dads)! But other than that, all the other items were from the Target seasonal dollar section! The best part about making our baskets was that it was so easy, and so much fun. It really only took a few minutes to put them together and we were ready to go!
Now for the fun part! Click on the instructions below and welcome to our BOO CREW! I hope you guys have as much fun as we did! Happy Haunting!
